About us
Max Harper (co-founder)
Max has an academic background in computer science and human-computer interaction, and a professional background in software development. He is interested in social computing, data mining, and web programming. He has a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota (GroupLens Research), and a B.A from Carleton College.

Dan Frankowski (co-founder)
Dan likes data. He likes looking at it, touching it, learning from it, helping others learn from it, and building tools to learn from it. He has the experience to match that joy. He worked at Net Perceptions improving recommendation software, the University of Minnesota as a research fellow participating in online community research, Google working for Groups, and Orasi Medical diagnosing Alzheimer's Disease from brain scan data.
